My 2011 Festivities… some mulled wine anyone?

I absolutely love this time of the year, the decorations, the tinsel, the smell of cinnamon in the air, twinkling lights on the tree, the presents  and most of all the music… it gives you every reason to smile. My most favorite childhood christmas memory takes me back to the year I got my bicycle! I still remember the smell of our live tree, my dad asking me to get in position for the picture, and my extreme happiness to be sitting on my first pair of wheels :) Continue reading →

Right about when this festive season began (late Nov – early Dec), I was engulfed by the worst thing a foodie could imagine- a virus! And not just any run on the mill virus… I was struck by the ugly, itchy and the extremely contagious rubella! Yes rubella (aka German measles) Started off with a ridiculously high fever in the wee hours of the morning, and then the horror of an alarming reflection starring back at me through my mirror after I jumped out of bed… My face looked like an orange peel… Only bumpier… Eeeeek!
