An experimental cook in the kitchen isn’t doing everything right if all the dishes are amazing and everything turns out the way you imagine it to be or the way its supposed to be; without the mistakes and little booboo’s here and there, its never a complete experience is it? Well not for me at least… and this is the story of how my wrong (which i can’t really pin point.. I really don’t know the science behind baking but I will assume that not reading the book properly had a huge part to play) turned out into something that was forgiving to say the least; quite forgiving if I may boast, colleagues at work were trying to breathe it in. Eggstatic for Easter
April is a great month! The smell of spring in the air in Dubai… well… there isn’t much of a spring, but there are a few blossoming flowers, an entertaining and debaucherous April Fool’s day to start off with and immediately followed with an Easter Celebration and then 3 huge birthdays tucked in between (mine, my mum’s and my bestie’s
) its going to be hard keeping track of what to celebrate when.
Happy St. Patty’s
A day over; but this dessert will last you much longer for all the right reasons.

Easy Peasy Japaneezy (Guest post for Masala Herb)
It is amazing how blogs and bloggers make the world a smaller place.
It was another slow work day and I was here… not minding my business and poking around to see what other kitchens were cooking and oozing out… And then I saw this beautiful and very neat and tidy blog. Hmmm this lady had some interesting recipes going… hey whats more is that the pictures she was posting up brought back a lot of memories, my memories of Goa. There were gorgeous pictures of beaches, houses, trees and I squinted my eyes to try and find the fine print… I was looking for the word “Goa” somewhere.. and there it was… in fact it was everywhere! Initially I was just enthralled by the assortment of recipes and failed to see “Goa” scattered everywhere. I immediately jumped on to twitter and asked this young lady how she found herself in Goa and if she was there on vacation; and then my ears were treated to a few beautiful words. “No, I’m a blogger from Goa!” My face lit up like a bunny on wheatgrass. A blogger from Goa?!??! I would have never thought. Her blog “Masala Herb” is like my kitchen away from home… I can almost smell everything from the mud to the clay pots and everything! I love Goan food, absolutely delicious and distinguishable from curries everywhere else in India… its just sad that I haven’t been at it yet; but this year I promised myself to get in touch with my roots.
Wishing you a **Merry Christmas** with Chocolate Rum Lollies
Right about when this festive season began (late Nov – early Dec), I was engulfed by the worst thing a foodie could imagine- a virus! And not just any run on the mill virus… I was struck by the ugly, itchy and the extremely contagious rubella! Yes rubella (aka German measles) Started off with a ridiculously high fever in the wee hours of the morning, and then the horror of an alarming reflection starring back at me through my mirror after I jumped out of bed… My face looked like an orange peel… Only bumpier… Eeeeek!
Indian Independence Day and “The” Mango Kulfi
Yes! Yes! I know it isnt Indian Independence day; but this was a post that got lost amidst a whole lot of other things. I am often scared to try out indian recipes, only because I find them so long and the process of things seem never-ending. Dont get me wrong.. I LOVE indian food.. I mean i absolutely HEART IT! But its easier to eat than to cook it.
Pot-Lickin Pot-luck and the Pink Ribbon
“So what is pot luck?” I’hve had a few people come up and ask me that; I was under the impression that it was a common term, but apparently it isnt. To put it quite simply, it is a foodie’s haven and a retreat for the insane food blogger. What usually happens is that one person volunteers to host a gathering of the masses and the rest of us hungry animals bring in one caracass to the dinner table, and then.. we FEAST!
